45 TYPE POSTER

The Citigroup Center, an office skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan, was completed in 1977. To celebrate its 45th anniversary, I designed a poster series for the building. I focused on using geometric shapes to capture the building’s silhouette. By playing with positive and negative shapes in the letters, I highlighted key characteristics of the skyscraper. In the first two posters, I based the design on the building's shape, while in the last two, I emphasized the letterforms. The final result evokes the feel of downtown building blocks.
